The pine industry mainly uses the wooden part of the tree but the pine needles account for 20 to 30 percent of its mass. Every year, billions of pine needles fall and go unused. This organic matter could be an interesting ecological source to exploit, thanks to its properties and the multitude of possibilities of transformation. This could be a great alternative for all kinds of fibers or materials. I did a series of experiments, investigating its potential of use as a fiber and how these materials can drive design through the creation of new matter experiences.
